Thailand-Myanmar Border Region Hill Tribes

“On a red dirt road without cell coverage along the Burmese border, I went through a swarm of bees, one flew in my helmet and stung me in the face. I thought, this may not have been the best idea.”

Using Chiang Mai, Thailand as a base, I spent five weeks on a few video projects, then took some time off to do a personal project photographing hill tribes. A motorcycle is the best way to get around, taking full advantage of the twisty roads and elevation changes.

At times, I was lost on the red dirt roads and would not see people for what seemed like hundreds of kilometers. To feel such solitude, even for a few hours, was the best way to wind down after a long project
